Interface overview
The LiveAI interface is divided into three main zones. On the left are your documents, in the center is the editor, and on the right is the AI chat. This layout lets you work with text and the AI simultaneously without switching between windows.
Three workspace zones
Left panel: navigation
This is where your folders and notebooks live. It's your library -- everything you've ever created in LiveAI.
What you can do here:
- Create folders and notebooks using the buttons at the top
- Move items by dragging and dropping
- Search -- the search bar filters documents by name in real time
- Expand/collapse folders for easy navigation
Center zone: editor
The main work area. This is where you write, format, insert blocks, and work with content. The editor takes up as much space as needed -- the side panels can be collapsed.
Above the text is a toolbar with formatting buttons. But if you prefer keyboard shortcuts or Markdown syntax, you can ignore the toolbar entirely -- everything works without it.

Right panel: AI chat
Your always-available assistant. Ask questions, request text, search the web for information, generate images. The chat remembers conversation context and can see your notes.
At the bottom of the chat is the input field with buttons:
- Model -- choose the AI tier (Basic, Premium, Super)
- Search -- enables web search
- Image -- switches to image generation mode
- Files -- attaches files to your request

Dark and light theme
LiveAI supports two visual themes. Switch themes in settings or use the system theme -- the interface will adapt to your OS settings.
If you choose the system theme, LiveAI will switch along with your operating system. Light during the day, dark in the evening.
Responsiveness
The interface adapts to your screen size:
- On desktop -- all three zones are visible at once, and you can resize them
- On tablet -- side panels collapse with a gesture or button
- On phone -- screens switch with a swipe: navigation <-> editor <-> chat
Multiple documents at once
LiveAI supports tabs -- open several notebooks and switch between them. Each tab preserves its scroll position and navigation history.
This is convenient when you're working with several related documents -- for example, gathering information from one note into another.

Now that you know where everything is, it's time to explore the editor -- it can do a lot more than meets the eye.
