Folders and notebooks
A single document is a notebook. Several notebooks make a folder. Several folders make your library. LiveAI lets you create any structure, from a simple list of notes to a deep project hierarchy.
Notebooks
A notebook is a single document — your basic unit of work. An article, a note, a plan, a draft — these are all notebooks.
To create a notebook:
- Click the "New notebook" button in the left panel
- Enter a name
- The notebook will open in the editor, ready to go
Give notebooks clear names: "Marketing article" instead of "Untitled 3". The AI assistant uses names as context — and provides more accurate help when it understands the topic.
Folders
Folders group notebooks by purpose — project, topic, or client.
To create a folder:
- Click the "New folder" button in the left panel
- Enter a name
- Drag notebooks into the folder (or create new ones directly inside)
Nested folders
Folders can be nested inside each other with no depth limit. This is convenient for complex projects:
📁 Work
📁 Client A
📁 Content plan
📄 January
📄 February
📁 Texts
📄 Article 1
📄 Article 2
📁 Client B
📄 Brief
📄 Proposal
Moving items
Drag and drop notebooks and folders with your mouse — simply grab an item and move it to the desired folder. The system checks to prevent infinite nesting (a folder cannot be placed inside itself).
Navigation
- Breadcrumbs — the path to the current document is shown at the top; you can click any folder in the path
- Expand/collapse — click the arrow next to a folder
- Search — the search bar at the top of the left panel filters the entire tree in real time
- Next/previous — navigate between adjacent notebooks in a folder
The folder structure syncs across all your devices. Once desktop and mobile apps launch (coming soon), your folders will appear there automatically.
