Editor Assistant
The AI assistant in the editor is currently in development. For now, you can use the AI chat for text-related tasks. Learn more — Roadmap.
The chat is a separate conversation with the AI. The editor assistant is AI that works directly with your text. Select a fragment, give a command — and the result is inserted into your document. No copying, no switching.
How to invoke the assistant
There are several ways:
- Select text and click the AI button on the toolbar
- Use the button on the formatting toolbar
- Floating button — appears near the cursor in the editor
What you can ask
The editor assistant works with the selected text and its surrounding context. Here are typical scenarios:
Rewrite
Select a paragraph and ask:
- "Rewrite in a conversational style"
- "Condense to one sentence"
- "Make it more formal"
- "Remove bureaucratic language"
Improve
- "Fix grammar and punctuation"
- "Improve the style while preserving the meaning"
- "Make the text more lively"
Continue
Place the cursor at the end of the text and ask:
- "Continue the thought"
- "Write the next paragraph"
- "Add a conclusion"
Translate
- "Translate to English"
- "Translate to Spanish, keeping an informal tone"
Working with results
When the AI generates a response, you see it in real time (streaming) and can:
- Insert — the AI text is placed at the cursor position
- Replace — the AI text replaces the selected fragment
- Retry — generate a different version
- Cancel — close the assistant without making changes
Do not hesitate to use the assistant multiple times in a row. First pass — a draft. Second — style improvement. Third — final polish. Each iteration makes the text better.
How it differs from the chat
Use both tools: the chat for generating new content, the assistant for working with existing text.
