Web Search
A typical AI only knows what it was trained on — and at some point that information becomes outdated. The AI in LiveAI can search for up-to-date information on the web directly from the chat.
How it works
- Click the "Search" button in the chat input field
- Type your question
- The AI will find relevant pages, read them, and compose a response
- Source links are included with the response — so you can always verify
When to use it
Web search is useful when you need:
- Up-to-date information — news, events, prices, dates
- Fact-checking — verify a statistic, quote, or fact
- Topic research — gather information from multiple sources. How to use search for research — on the Research and analytics page.
- Current trends — what is being discussed right now
Example search prompts
- "What are the biggest AI news stories from the past week?"
- "Find current statistics on remote work"
- "What are the formatting requirements for a scientific paper?"
Search results
When the AI uses search, you will see:
- Found links — cards with the title, URL, and description of each source
- Summary response — the AI combines information from multiple sources into a single coherent text
- Source attribution — the response shows where each piece of information came from
Links are clickable
Every link in the search results is clickable. You can go to the original source and read the full version.
Regular chat vs. search
When search is not needed
For creative tasks (writing, rewriting, translation), search is usually unnecessary. It is most useful for factual information that may become outdated.
